We’re happy to share that Colin Stetson’s album The Love It Took to Leave You has been nominated for an Instrumental Album of the Year Juno Award. A deeply immersive solo work, the album features new ways of capturing sound and instrumentation, intensifying Colin’s practice while challenging the historical canon of the bass saxophone.

Built through virtuosic circular breathing techniques that generate polyphonic overtones and otherworldly harmonic passages, the record unfolds as a long-form narrative shaped by breath, body, and motion. A perfect storm of technical, musical, and compositional achievement.
