MELISSA AUF DER MAUR ANNOUNCES “EVEN THE GOOD GIRLS WILL CRY: A ‘90S ROCK MEMOIR” TOUR WITH MONTREAL STOP
An iconic figure of '90s alternative rock and an acclaimed musician best known as the former bassist of Hole and The Smashing Pumpkins, Melissa Auf der Maur announces a North American and UK book launch tour to mark the release of her first book, Even The Good Girls Will Cry: A '90s Rock Memoir, out March 17, 2026 via Da Capo Press and Grand Central Publishing.
A remarkably open-hearted, clear-eyed memoir of the ’90s alternative era, the book traces Auf der Maur’s singular journey from her bohemian upbringing in Montreal into a pivotal era in rock history. Part rock memoir, part travel diary, part psychedelic scrapbook, Even The Good Girls Will Cry is a behind-the-scenes rock ’n’ roll memoir marked by soulful intimacy and mystic undertones, offering a vivid dispatch from the last analog decade.
Already praised by international critics, Even The Good Girls Will Cry has been described as “an intimate and rewarding memoir for fans of ‘90s rock” (Booklist) and “a deeply human coming-of-age story at the heart of the alternative scene” (Library Journal).

The evening will feature a reading and slideshow from the book, followed by a book signing and a xMAdMx Darkwave DJ set by Melissa Auf der Maur. The event will take place partly in French and partly in English.
