BELL ORCHESTRE HOUSE MUSIC PERFORMANCE FILM 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL RELEASE

On their third album House Music, Bell Orchestre captures the impulsive, connective, mysterious poetics of musical invention happening in realtime. Marking the album’s 5th anniversary, the Montreal-based ensemble now unveils the public premiere of its visual counterpart, directed by band member Kaveh Nabatian.

Filmed in the beautiful Canadian woodlands, this unique performance film brings together the fabled avant-garde outfit to reimagine the album as an immersive, living work. Following an earlier festival run in 2021, the film now becomes widely available for the first time.

Like the record itself, the film unfolds as one continuous piece: a recorded-then-sculpted improvisation that blurs the boundaries between composition and spontaneity, coalescing classical and electronic instrumentation in the creation of genre-defying musical worlds.

Premiering today via Erased Tapes, watch the full performance film on the label’s YouTube channel.
